I love you.

eddsworld responds:

Thanks man, love your stuff :D

poorly thought out plot, and not really funny

Why didn't he just kill her right away? Why did he say fuck it at the end when he was planning on killing her anyway?

You said it wasn't supposed to be sexual or anything so...

It was well animated and I liked your character designs as well as backgrounds, but everything else was rather poooor.

Pixmintro responds:

Thanks for the 10 hahaha

The movie was alright...

That first girl voice sounded like Mel from flight of the conchords.

TheFabs responds:

..........

That shoe was one hell of a director.

The idea of turning into a duck was amazing.

I like how you like doing language/word puns, they funny.

eddsworld responds:

Thanks man, i'm quite the fan of you :D

It tried really hard...

I felt like the entire thing was trying to tug at my heart but it fell flat. The music is was set the mood, and it was find and dandy, even though cliche. The characters didn't really do much. There was no conflict going on in this movie. Yeah the kid wants to be a pilot, that's all? It didn't go anywhere.
The dialogue was pointless, this type of movie would be more successful without any dialogue at all. It came off as too generic and bland. Especially the Dad. Who says merry christmas to their kid like that? I lol'd at that scene.
Work on your drawings. Perspective baby. Keep your character style, but learn some hardcore perspective so you can do the dynamic style you were trying to do.
Also, the ending didn't really conclude anything or do anything at all. It just kinda ended it.
I know how long animations take, and the amount of effort needed, and i saw the effort it's just your final product fell flat. Try again next time. Oh and you like the Iron Giant, this movie screams that you like the Iron Giant.

KartuneHustla responds:

I don't get what you mean by perspective. You really don't explain anything by saying perspective. But I'll work on my perspective. Everything in a movie needs perspective. If there is no perspective, then what the perspective makes this movie.
Like i said before in another response, I tried to make this a musical based project before I started, but the transition of him from inside to outside would be hard without having any dialogue at all. He finishes watching tv, then after that I don't have anything to make him go outside.
The dialogue, well... if you don't like it then you don't like it. Can't do much about that
And yes, there is no conflict. The point of this was to give you small things so you can interpret it for yourself. I guess you didn't get anything out of it, so that's that. Good review though.

-Perspective

That explains it....

I saw a doctor flying in the sky today and was wondering what was up with that. Now I know the answer, thank you Zombie-Pimp for telling me the answer to my question and making me giggle like a school girl.

Zombie-Pimp responds:

Dude I fucking love Everybody Jam like you have no idea

A good start to animating

Let me start off by saying that I did not see that ending coming. The ball looked pretty good and had some nice animation going....but this was more a sprite movie than anything else. I liked the concept of a ball just going around doing whatever and messing with video game characters and then having them chase after the ball.

For one, the dialogue you had in there I couldn't really understand and what I did understand it wasn't very funny. It sounded like somebody just behind the mike doing voices, not the characters talking if you get what I mean. And some of the music clips seemed out of place(they went by too quickly and just didn't mesh with the movie).

The sprite animation was really smooth and nice. What I would say is work on your own drawing skills so that way you can combine the sprite animating with your own drawings ( the Tankman series is a good example of that). I think good things will happen if you head in that direction.

Just keep making stuff man! You have potential. I stuck around to watch the ending of the animation so it has something to it! You also have a pretty good score. Just keep making stuff!

Willianatiortrio responds:

Heh, thanks man! Yeah and the voices were a little bad because my friend used his cell phone to record the voice and for some reason when I put it on the flash it decreased in speed so I recorded the sound on a sound recorder on the computer so it sounded even worse.

The reason the music went by too fast was because I never focus on how many frames I should leave, though I know I should make a really big change in that.

Thanks for your honesty! I wrote some ideas for flashes down already but I decided to wait until I get the tablet I'm saving up for since I really can't use sprites for them.

I'll be honest

You don't have to listen to anything I say in this review, but try to take some of it into consideration as you continue this series. You appear to have the passion to want to make the series, but remember you are making it for other people to watch too, so it might be your vision but try to have the viewer in mind when making something. Also, I am not attacking you at all in this review, just trying to help out and give suggestions.

So lets start with what you did well. You can draw pretty well and had some nice details present. Your movie did have a direction to it and always had somewhere to go. Your movie is better than most of the stuff here on Newgrounds.

You came up with a very overused story which means you have to do an excellent job to override the fact the plot is cliche(which you didn't do). The animation/art of this animation looked a lot like a poorly done Esurance commercial (the main character reassembled the girl in those commercials a lot). You really have to work on your animation, and add some fbf in there to make it look much more natural since nearly all of the movements were too clunky and robotic. Now, I don't really have a problem with art as a standalone thing, but it was that the style really didn't match the theme/plot at all.

That is more a matter of direction. The story plot from your movie i assume is dark, and the art (for me) came off as overwhelmingly happy. I couldn't feel for the character. It just didn't go together. I didn't like the limited animation at the beginning that relied too much on your character design and voice acting.

The color scheme didn't really change too much once on the spaceship thing. You played with lighting a tiny bit, but it still wasn't scary, and didn't pull me in. The camera was also too jerky. Also the bitmap images you used felt extremely out of place.

The entire movie moved too fast. I didn't believe anything, there was no suspense, or tension throughout the entire thing, so it wasn't engaging for me the viewer at all. You didn't build the aliens or any of the events it all just kept happening, and because of that, it because rather boring. I didn't feel lost at any point either, so I wasn't feeling for the girl character in it.

I didn't really enjoy the dialogs at the beginning. It felt like a script was being read, it just wasn't natural. The voice acting was interesting at all either.

So you are trying to achieve a vagueness in the first episode to make people interested and watch again later right? It really didn't work for me like that, you had no real exciting things happen that made me interested. It was all just there. I felt no real mystery or thrill aspect to it. That style isn't new, it's not different, it's done all the time, and it's bad, it's amateur. Nice try though, we all have to start somewhere. Even the stuff that people assume is the "doesn't revile a lot at a time" plots like Lost or Heroes still has interesting characters that pull the viewer in. Whatever.

Aside from all that, people seem to be enjoying it. I'll be sure to watch your next episode.
